Big Announcements

We are buying a house!!! No, not this one, but close, just the Rose Park version. We are closing tomorrow and then will be moving as soon as possible (carrying things downstairs should be easier than it was going up).

And...we are having a BABY!!! Due: October 16th.

Mmm...Soup!

I have never made homemade soup before so this was big for me (but it turned out to be quite easy). Soup just sounded good and I found a recipe in my favorite cookbook "Fix-It and Enjoy-It" by Phyllis Pellman Good (same lady who does the Fix-It and Forget-It cookbooks for slow cookers) and despite not having gone grocery shopping for quite some time, I actually had all the ingredients (except for celery so I just left it out). But even without the celery it was very yummy.

I was in a hurry to get it finished before Sam left for work so I just moved things I was done with out of the way and now have a mess and yes, that is a Chinese food leftover box, but since I ate its contents for lunch it was serving as a small portable garbage.

Red Boots

These are the red boots Sam bought me for Christmas, I absolutely love them! I said I would post a picture, so here you go...

School started again on January 12th and because there haven't been any major assignments it is still fun and exciting. Although, I was quite frustrated today because I had a political science class that went right through the inauguration. Can you believe it? Of all classes, a class on politics didn't even cancel so we could watch the new president get sworn into office. Although, my acting class which starts at 10:45 (after the important part was over) was cancelled due to the inauguration. Oh well, I was still able to watch the whole thing online later. I must admit it was pretty exciting, however I wish the public was this excited for every new member of office.

Anyways, I just wanted to show off what I was able to do with the gift I received at the Gleason Christmas Party. Actually, I tried to go away with some light-up Santa slippers, but apparently Phil didn't want to paint his nails.

Update

Wow, I am horrible at this. But, since finals and Christmas are over things shouldn't be quite as crazy.

In the beginning of December, Sam and I had the chance to go on a quick little trip to Washington DC, we were only there for a couple of days, but we had fun. Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

We were too cold to wait for someone to take a picture of us together, so we did it ourselves. We call this our drunk picture because we both look like we had a little too much.

Finals ended on December 17th, and, thankfully, I passed all my classes, so...only 3 more semesters left. I am pretty much done with everything I need for my Anthropology major, but since I still have to fulfill credit requirments, I have decided to double major in Political Science. What will I do when I'm done? Either go to law school or go on and get my Masters, it depends on what is going on with our lives at the time.

Christmas was nice, nothing too exciting. We had been planning on going to Preston, but the snowstorm pushed our visit to the following weekend, but we still had fun eating my mom's homemade candy and playing games.
Sam and I were pretty lame this year, neither one of us could think of anything we wanted and we didn't feel like fighting the crowds at the mall, so we just bought each other some clothes. Sam got me some very sassy, tall, red boots, that I absolutely love (I will post a picture later) and I got Sam a nice warm jacket because he is always cold during the winter.
As of right now, Sam is working and I am relaxing and enjoying the break from school (classes don't start again until January 12th). So I better go clean or do dishes, so it looks like I actually did something today.

Police Academy Graduation

Last Wednesday Sam graduated from the Salt Lake Police Academy. The Academy lasted 5 months and included tests every Monday and quizzes every Wednesday and Friday. The recruits were tested in physical fitness (which, of course, Sam rocked), law, fire arms, driving, and defense tactics. Sam also enjoyed the wonderful experiences of getting pepper sprayed and tazed. He is now on the streets fighting bad guys. Way to go Sam!

This is a trophy Sam's sister Ellie made; she is so creative. Sam's family also gave him several boxes of doughnuts.

Sorry not everyone was invited, seating was limited. This is a link to story on KSL. There is a video and if you watch closely you can see Sam and the back of my head. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4910741

10. (a) 4 (b) 2 (c) 3 (d) 5 (e) 6 (f) 1

Now add up the total number of points.

OVER 60 POINTS
Others see you as someone they should "handle with care." You're seen as vain, self-centered and one who is extremely domineering. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS
Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, one who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate

41 TO 50 POINTS
Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS
Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful and practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over it if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS
Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS
People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions and who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist. Some people think you're boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren't.
